Pennsyvania Coordinator, Recruiting

The 27-year coaching veteran will serve as the hitting coach and catching coach. McGloin began his college coaching career in 2000 as the Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at Lackawanna College (NJCAA II). He spent a short time as the Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at Keystone College (NJCAA III) in the fall of 2001 before being hired as the pitching coach at Drexel University (NCAA I, CAA). In two seasons with Drexel, he saw his impact on the pitching staff take an immediate effect on the field and in recruiting. Among the improvements of the pitching staff in nearly every statistical category, was a school strikeout record (366), a staff pickoff record (17) and an improved strikeout to walk ratio.

McGloin spent the 2003-2004 year as the top assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Northwest Florida State College (NJCAA I). NWFSC has established itself as one of the top junior college programs in the country. Coach McGloin was responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the program as well as assisting with the hitters, defense and pitchers. The 2004 OWCC Team fell one game shy of making the Florida State Junior College Tournament. The Raiders still managed to finish ranked ninth in the state, set a school record and lead the state with a .354
team batting average and lead the state with a .964 fielding percentage. The team also contained nine Major League Baseball Draft Picks including six in the 2004 Draft Class.

From 2004 through 2011, Coach McGloin was the Head Baseball Coach at West Scranton High School. In seven seasons, the program recorded 80 wins which is the most in any seven-year span in school history. In 2008, he guided West Scranton to their first league championship in sixteen years. In 2011,West Scranton advanced to the district championship game for the first time in 40 years.

McGloin is also no strangerto the collegiate summer ball circuit, international baseball and scouting. He served as an assistant coach with the Scranton Red Sox of the Atlantic Collegiate Summer Baseball League (ACBL) in 2001. During the summer of 2002, Coach McGloin served as a Special Envoy for Major League Baseball in Europe. For over seven weeks, he toured and lectured in schools and at players and coaches clinics and also conducted practices for the German NationalTeam and Junior Olympic Team. In 2003, Paul served as an assistant coach with the Alexandria Beetles in the Northwoods Summer Collegiate League. McGloin served as the third base coach and worked with the hitters and infielders. He guided the offense and helped land the
organization their first playoff appearance in franchise history. During the summer of 2004, McGloin served under legendary Cape Cod Coach, Harvey Shapiro, as an assistant coach with the Bourne Braves in the prestigious Cape Cod League (CCL).

In 2009, Coach McGloin founded Electric City Baseball & Softball Academy in downtown Scranton. Since its inception, ECBSA has held dozens of camps, clinics and conducted thousands of private lessons for players in Pennsylvania and neighboring states. In 2015, McGloin founded the East Coast Sandhogs Travel Baseball Organization. For the past nine years, the Sandhogs have been one of leading travel organizations on the East Coast. They have produced over 400 college commitments, thirteen Major League Baseball Draft picks and have had their top team ranked number one in the state of Pennsylvania by Perfect Game Baseball. From 2012 through 2015, Paul served as an associate scout with the New York Yankees. His responsibilities included scouting high school seniors and draft eligible college players in Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey. He also assisted at special events such as the Area Code tryouts as well as the Summer Rivalry Classic. From 2015-2023, McGloin served as an associate scout with the Philadelphia Phillies.
